Colin Hughes of Machynlleth
It was with sadness that we learnt that Colin Hughes of Machynlleth (formerly of Rhayader) passed away on Monday 27th September. Colin was a very keen angler and spent much of his time on his beloved reservoir, Clywedog. He served the Welsh National Team in the seventies and did exceptionally well on Loch Leven and the Lake of Menteith.
In one competition on Loch Leven he and Gwynfor Jones took a dozen fish or so in the first half an hour just a couple of hundred yards from the Pier. He was a keen competitor and had a very good record in his efforts for the Welsh Fly Fishing Team.
The funeral service will take place at the Crematorium in Aberystwyth on Friday 1st October at 3.00 p.m.
