INTER–REGION COMPETITION ON LLYN TRAWSFYNYDD

SUNDAY, AUGUST 17th 2008

Osian Jones, the Top Rod in the Inter Region match on Llyn Trawsfynydd, being congratulated by Moc Morgan

Only two of our six regions participated in the above match this year.

Unfortunately the regional captains for the other four regions failed to get a 10 man team to participate in the event.

The two teams that did take part were:

South West (under the captaincy of Euros Jones) and

Gwynedd (under the non-fishing captaincy of Mitch Atherton)

Llyn Traws fished really well and the participants had a very enjoyable day. The heavy morning rains turned to sunshine in the afternoon and the catches reflected the ideal fishing conditions.

The match was fished to a 4 fish limit and thereafter Catch and Release.

Mitch Atherton and the Gwynedd Team after winning the Inter-Region Match on Llyn Trawsfynydd

The winning team was Gwynedd with 68 fish and total weight of 108lbs 4.50ozs

The South West team had 44 fish and total weight of  70lbs 9.25ozs.

Warmest congratulations to Top Rod Osian Jones from Cambrian FF – & a member of the 2008 Youth Team – who recorded 14 fish with weight equivalent of 22lbs 6.25ozs.

In second place was Ned Thomas, Cwmllynfell with 10 fish weighing 15lbs 9.50ozs and in third place was Meical Roberts, Brenig with 9 fish weighing 14lbs 7ozs.

Thanks to the lads on Llyn Trawsfynydd for ensuring that everyone had a memorable day.
