2009 World Welsh Flyfishing Teaml – r Jeremy Waddley, Gareth Williams, Jonathan Williams (Cpt), Neil Ashman and Geoff Thompson
Warmest Congratulations to the Welsh Team on gaining fifth position in the World Fly Fishing Championship in Scotland. The team – Jonathan Williams, Neal Ashman, Geoff Thompson, Jeremy Waddley and Gareth Williams – narrowly missed out on the medals. They had prepared well – having gone up to Scotland to fish the venues – River Tay, Loch Leven, Loch Carron, Loch Awe and Lake of Menteith – on more than one occasion. As one would expect in a World Championship there was fierce competition but the Welsh lads were well focused and really came up with the goods.
Well done lads – Wales and WSTAA are really proud of you!

Congratulations to England on winning the Championship and to Scotland for coming third.

Congratulations too to the individual winner and the new World Champion – Ian Barr of England.
