Congratulations to Cheryl Jones Brown Bowl 2010

On winning the Brown Bowl at the Ladies International

Congratulations Cheryl Jones, Mountain Ash Angling Club – on winning the coveted Brown Bowl at the 2010 Ladies International

Champion angler Cheryl Jones surrounded by the trophies she won at the Ladies international on LlandegfeddYesterday Cheryl Jones from Hirwaun won the highest of accolades when she was proclaimed the ‘Top Rod’ at the Loch-style Ladies International Fly Fishing Championship on Llandegfedd Reservoir.
Cheryl started fishing some four years ago when she succumbed to the notion – ‘if you can’t beat them join them’ because her husband Ian and son Sean wanted to do nothing but fish! Cheryl took to the sport quite quickly and has represented Wales on the international stage on three occasions.
Yesterday her dedication to the sport paid off – as not only did she win the Brown Bowl but also won the trophy for the biggest fish.
What an achievement!
In her speech at the presentation ceremony Audrey Williams, the 2010 Ladies Captain, in warmly congratulating Cheryl also referred to her skill and determination. Though small of stature, Cheryl is certainly big on effort – always giving of her all.
All the team members were delighted with Cheryl’s success.
Congratulations Cheryl!  – Well done you!
