Win for England – silver for Wales

River International on River Tees – Friday 2nd July

The river Tees – described as a dream river by the Welsh Team – unfortunately did not reciprocate in kind – and posed a few problems for our team with its fluctuating levels.
On competition day, England came out on top with a fantastic score of 31 pacings, Wales was second with 51, Ireland third with 56 and the wooden spoon this time went to Scotland with 62 pacings.(as you know the lower the placings the better!)

Warmest congratulations to England on a wonderful team performance.

Welsh Team Captain, Philip Jehu, won the Mike Child’s Trophy for the largest fish.

Tam Manager and Coach, Edgar George referred to the gallant effort put in by his team who had visited the Tees several times to practice. Conditions on the day play such a vital part in this competition.
Other Team members were Allen Hughes, Dean Kibble, Paul Jenkins and Anthony Cartwright.
