RESULT OF MOLLY SWEET / HALF MOON COMPETITION 2015.
Last Sunday, 20th November The WSTAA ‘Molly Sweet and Half Moon Bank Fly-fishing Competition’ was held at Clywedog Reservoir, Llanidloes. A total of eleven teams entered the competition and managed catch 125 fish for a grand weight of 216lb. 12oz at a rod average of 3.90.
The winners of the Half Moon Trophy [team of 6] were Llanidloes Anglers,
[Wyn Gwalchmai, Ken Llewellyn, Rob Davies, Pete Penlington, Phil Baker, and Ian Hartland.] Who weighed in a total of 34 fish for 60lb. 3oz, with the Ospreys A/B following close behind.
The tables were turned for the Molly Sweet Trophy [team of 3] when Club Ospreys A, [Dave Matthews, Ray Morgan and Darren Williams] were the winners with a total of 18 fish for 32lb. 01oz. Llanidloes ‘A’ also with 18 fish but slightly lighter at 31lb. 15oz, were runners-up.
An individual bag of six fish for 12lb. 10oz, and the heaviest fish of the day, which was a 3lb. 07oz rainbow, secured the Terry Fenton cup to Wayne Cooksey of the Osprey ‘B’ Team.
Grateful Thanks is extended to all those anglers who participated once again in this annual event. Congratulations are extended to all the winners and commiserations to those who just didn’t quite make it on this occasion.
